Village Spirits brings ghostly villagers and farm animals back after death. They appear at night and during storms, and you can interact with them using soul sand or an enchanted golden apple.
When a villager, pig, sheep, cow, chicken, or iron golem dies, a spirit of that creature may return. These spirits are quiet and pale, and they only show themselves when the world is dark enough, such as at night or during rain and thunder.

Spirit villagers can be given soul sand or soul soil for a small amount of experience. An enchanted golden apple can bring a spirit back to life as a normal creature. Hitting or curing a spirit plays special ghost sounds and soft soul effects.

Spirits are meant to feel like ghosts, not normal mobs. They move gently, and hostile undead will not treat spirit villagers like living villagers. You can also spawn them with the spirit spawn eggs from the creative menu.
